Q) What Exactly is Speed Dating?

A) Speed dating is a fun and fast paced way to meet a lot of other singles in your area, who are also looking to find someone special. The women are all seated at different tables while the men rotate every 6 minutes until everyone has met. At the end of each 6 minute "mini-date" a bell will ring and participants secretly click on 'yes' or 'no' on their mobile phone app, depending on their interest. Participants will receive their matches on the spot, hence, why we are called Lighthing speeddating. However, to make sure our state of the art matching system works flawlessly,  we will provide you with score card so you can circle yes or no and submit these score card back to us at the end of the evening. We will then send you the results by the next morning.  To get your perfect match,  both have to select “yes" to one another, and that information will be forwarded back to the participants. They can then get back in touch right away to talk more, exchange phone numbers and set up a "second date!" 

Q) Why 6 Minutes?

A) We have tried different time increments, but have found that 6 minutes works best. We found that most people know in just a few minutes if they would like to get to know someone better or not. This is the purpose of speed dating events ' to bring multiple singles together in order to find other singles they would like to know better and set up real dates with. If you really hit it off with someone and want to talk longer, stay when the event is over and mingle at the after party. When the mobile app will be fine tuned, you will receive your matches on the spot, and you can then meet the person you been matched with and continue mingling.  In the case you need to head back home, you can always communicate with the perfect match and schedule another date with that person, or persons you've been matched with.

Q) Who Attends Lightning Speeddating Events?

A) Many different people attend Speeddating events, but we have found that one of the things they have in common, is that they are usually intelligent professionals who have just not found that special someone yet. Q) Where are the Events and is there Privacy?

A) Lightning speeddating events generally take place in a private room of either a restaurant, bar, or lounge. Many times we choose lounges or bars which are closed to the public during the time of our event. We try to make our events as private as possible. We prefer that all participants register in advance so we can accurately expect the amount of people who will show up to make sure the venue is big enough to cater to our group. We always encourage speeddaters not to wait at the last minute to register. It can make the process more difficult for the host at the night of the event. Please be considerate and register at least a week in advance for our events so our host can prepare accordingly. 

Q) I Think I am too Nervous to Try Something Like this - Any Tips?

A) Many people new to speed dating may be nervous about attending an event. However, there is absolutely no reason to be nervous ' everyone at the event is just like you - single and looking to meet other singles. The events are very low pressure, organized and take place in a structured setting. You never have to worry about approaching someone at Lightning speeddating events, because they are expecting and waiting for you to approach them! Plus, our host is always there to facilitate meet-up between participants. This is our job to make this event stress free and with loads of fun! We also have our Ice-Breakers game that will facilitate the process of meeting new people before the Speed Dating event starts. The participants will also win door prizes for every theme we present at the events.

Q) I Don't Want to try it Alone - Will I Feel Awkward if I Do?

A) There is no reason to feel awkward about attending an event alone. In fact, 90% of the people attending an event come alone. We have fantastic hosts and our events are very structured so you will never feel as if you don't know what is going on. Once at an event you will be paired at a table with someone and engaged in conversation, therefore having a friend with you is not necessary. However, people do have a great time when they bring along their friends. Ladies - Our events make a great ladies night out as well, so encouraged your single girlfriends to join you! 

Q) What if there isn't enough attendance at the event?

A) We are so confident our events work but in some cases, we may have men or women who registers at the event but fails to show up. This is totally out of our control. However, we understand that it may happen so we offer a guarantee of a minimum of 6 people of the opposite gender you will meet at every event or you will be given a FREE voucher for any future events of your choice. To receive a Free Pass to another event, you must be there for the entire event and submit us your scorecard before you leave the event at the end of the night. 

Q) What about my age group? If I am younger or older, different religion or ethnicity, how will that pan out?

A) Our events have wide age ranges. However, Lightning speeddating events are large enough so there are always participants in attendance who are your age, regardless of whether or not your age is on the lower or upper end of an age group. Men and women, who may be on the lower or upper end of an age group, have the opportunity to attend events for two different age groups in order to find the one they like the best! We overlap the age groups in order to let you chose what event you want to attend – consider this an advantage! Our age group and theme changes constantly, so a full rotation of the same age group may come every 8 weeks. We cover the 20 and 30 age group, 30 and 40’s. 40’s and OVER, Christian Group, Jewish Group, African American, Asian, International and so much more. We make sure to do a full rotation of all events before we get back to the top of the list. This way, every age and groups get their fair share of yearly events. 

Q) If I Come to Another Event will I Meet the Same People Again?

A) At our events you meet all new people every time you attend - unlike other speed dating services where you may be paying just to meet the same people over and over again. Many people match at one event and start dating a few days later. For some it may take a few events before they really meet the person they are looking for. Give it time - it will happen and this is the absolute best way to find that special someone. The person you have been searching for might be there that night or they might be 3 events away. Even if this is the case, we will always be hosting fun events until that someone does come along! 

Q) Why Should I Choose Lightning speeddating over Similar Services?

A) Be careful in choosing your speed dating service. Many reasons set Lightning speeddating apart from others.
